Our client, a leading company in the Oil and Gas industry, are looking for a Lead Engineer to join their team.
The main duties of the successful candidate will be -
To plan and organise activities of the Aberdeen based design team to ensure that fit for purpose design packages are produced to meet deadlines for tendering, project approval, production and product development as appropriate.
To ensure that the required rigour is applied at all stages of specification, engineering, and design.
To undertake design work as and when required.
Have input to new product developments in conjunction with the Business Development Director, Technical Director and other relevant personnel.
To define and develop product test procedures, supervise validation trials and witness testing where required.
To liaise with client representatives as appropriate.
To support, train and develop staff under his/her control in line with company policy.
To compile reports for directors and make presentations as required.
Have input to enquiry and contract review processes when requested.
To ensure that all relevant company policies and procedures are adhered to in department under his/her control and make recommendations for improvement.
To liaise with Heysham based Lead Engineer to ensure optimal use of available resources and co-ordination of activities.
The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, a Thorough knowledge of engineering mathematics, FEA and CAD software and will have a Chartered status. The ideal candidate will posses good communication and interpersonal skills and will have the ability to administer, organise, lead and motivate a small team.
Knowledge of Autodesk Software ( Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault), project management experience and knowledge of the offshore environment would be advantageous.
