Full Description:
Our client, one of the largest companies in the oil and gas industry, is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to become responsible for ensuring products and services are fit for purpose, and to provide support to the field through failure investigation and operational advise. Additional responsibilities include technical support for supply chain and manufacturing as well as the development and implementation of new or improved techniques, procedures or products. Candidate will be working in a multidiscipline engineering group in Aberdeen and linking into other Engineering Groups and companies Product Centers.
Candidate will become responsible for sustaining projects including project activities such as controlling cost, scheduling, resourcing and reporting, sustaining requests and implementing modifications to existing products to meet operational and manufacturing requirements and failure analysis of products
Candidate will be responsible for individual Rapid Response projects in addition to New Product Development projects, as and when the need arises and will be responsible for Reviewing and evaluating the progress in development of design and evaluation techniques. Candidate will be responsible for the engineering support of new and existing products and will be expected to take an active leadership role in QHSE issues that affect site and/or products. Other related duties as assigned by the Project or Engineering Manager
Candidate will be expected to participate in identifying and application of new technologies and innovations that maintain companiess technical leadership position. To take projects from the concept stage, field trials and commercialisation including all stages of product development, design, proposal, verification, evaluation and validation. Candidate will be required to work with the patent department to protect the IP of new designs and techniques.
Candidate will be expected to produce designs from product requirements following the Product Lifecycle Management Process (PLMP), preparation of PLMP documentation for phase milestone meetings and produce outline designs to allow Designer to produce the engineering drawings for manufacture, supervision of designer project tasks where necessary.
