Health and Safety Manager/ Logistics Manager required for Aberdeen
Our client are a main contractor who are building several schools over the next3 years in the Aberdeen area. Due to continued expansion the are looking to recruit a Health and Safety manager/ logisticsManager for a new multi-million pound school.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
-Chairing the Site Committee and conducting safety meetings and general day to day issues on site this will commence at 8am every morning.
-Carrying out site inspections and complete related schedules on a weekly basis
-Conducting site safety inductions
-Coordinating the logistics on site, based on information from contractors foreman, this will involve coordinating deliveries to ensure they are stored safety, and ensuring all waste is disposed of in a safe manner.
-Updating construction phase plan and construction site plans
-Implementing Considerate Constructors Scheme together with the Project Manager
-Reviewing contractors method statement and risk assessment and preparing local risk assessment and method statements.
-Checking issues related to health and safety (certificates for operators and plant, site safety rules, issue of company personal protection equipment, accidents, incidents, near misses etc.)
-Liaising with the relevant authorities, sub-contractors and contractor personnel on site in safety issues
-Contact to neighbours including the existing school.
Qualifications and attributes:
Our client are looking for a proactive manager who will have a presence on site and be able to offer assistance and advice in a professional and efficient manner, and ensure all work is carried out in accordance to Health and safety procedures. This position would suit a candidate from a construction or trades background who has experience of major construction projects.
Furthermore you should have a minimum ofthe NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
The Scaffold Inspection Certificate and the HSE First Aid Certificate (4 day)would beadvantageous but not essential.
