    Our client, a very well recognised company in the oil and gas industry, is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join their prestigious team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the designing and testing of oil, gas and the completion equipment for multiple product lines, including the Cased Hole System, Sand Control Systems, Well Bore Intervention and Well Bore Construction. The candidate will be accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects within the timescales and on a budget, the execution of design products and submitting patents. The candidate will be expected to assist in planning and reviews, plan and conduct research, create project plans, facilitate technical meetings, select engineering techniques to solve problems, recommend designs and materials for engineering tasks, produce innovative ideas, co-ordinate prototype Lab and Field tests, create field bulletins, develop existing product lines, produce and check all drawing types, select seal materials, control the production of manufacture, make use of V.A concepts to reduce cost, preparing test programs, requests and reports, analyse test results, conduct design reviews, order and track prototype parts and adhere to health and safety rules and regulations.

    Preferably, the ideal candidate, will be skilled in the use of CAD, Solid Works 3 and SmarTeam, time management, technical writing skills, report writing skills, Microsoft word, communication, presentation and organisational. The ideal candidate must have experience in management, the ability to apply mathematics to support tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to work well with others as well as being able to work by themselves, using their own initiative where needed.

    Ideally, the successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent. They would ideally have experience of designing and testing equipment, managing projects, working to deadline and the understanding of product liability issues. The successful candidate will preferably have knowledge of intellectual property requirements, drafting techniques, health and safety requirements and the understanding of basic machining operations.
