Our client, a high profile company in the oil and gas industry, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of a small multi-disciplined team of engineers that designs remote controlled electro-mechanical and hydraulic products that are used in harsh environments. The Engineer will become accountable for for the mechanical design of both new products and upgrading existing products and taking a design from concept to final assembly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for modelling of parts of detailed drawings and exploded view drawings in SolidWorks, checking drawings, the analysis of the equipment involving; force and stress analysis, mechanism analysis, and hydraulic and electro-mechanical analysis of drive systems involving motors, gearing and actuators. This analysis will involve hand calculations and spreadsheets with Mathcad and Excel, and finite element analysis with Cosmos. The candidate will also be responsible for interaction with electronic design engineers to ensure products are designed concurrently with electronic component integration, assisting technicians with new builds to ensure that parts and assemblies and stock details are correct. Candidate will also be accountable for dealing with internal and external non-compliance of parts and engineering change notices and the interaction with purchasing/stores/production/quality departments to ensure that parts and builds are as per the design.
The ideal candidate will be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, proficient in the use of 3D CAD software and will have good analytical skills of static and dynamic systems.
