Our client, a prestigious company in the oil and gas industry are looking to recruit an Engineer Manager to join their successful team.
The successful candidate will have an overall responsibility for technical management and solutions in the project, defined by contract scope of work, project BOM, project schedules and budgets, will be responsible for system engineering within the project and generation of the associated technical documentation, in accordance with engineering practice and demands for quality, cost efficiency and timely performance of the work candidate will also be responsible for budget related to engineering performance of the above.
The engineering manager has authority to act on behalf of the Project Manager in all areas regarding project specific technical solutions and technical documentation.
The candidate will have the authority to initiate, direct and complete technical management and engineering work in the project related to products supplied from the product development department, and to overall system performance.
The candidate will be accountable for managing the engineering work in the project proactively, in accordance with the companys policies and procedures, and to achieve product quality, functions and design life as specified or implied by Contract documents and companys specifications. Candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an engineering team, and promoting clear and concise communication with the company, performing project mobilisation activities, as defined by project manager, ensure that system engineering documentation, is established, reviewed and accepted by company during the project mobilisation phase, and update as required during the project.
Candidate will be expected to perform engineering planning, in co-operation with project planning and supply management to ensure optimum execution of project activities, follow up and report on a regular basis engineering status and performance, report deviations, propose actions and prepare input on engineering/design manpower needs to the product departments.
Candidate will be expected to establish, maintain, prepare and provide project and product engineering information and documentation, such as BOMs, documents and drawings (in accordance with E-plan), interface documentation, and maintenance documentation and clarify this towards the company, manage and supervise technical clarifications with company, maximise the use of standard products, and ensure that any new products, which are not specified as a standard product, are approved by the respective product group before being offered or implemented, identify and be responsible for all internal and external interfaces within the project, perform reliability and safety analysis, participate and manage internal meetings, review boards and project meetings and technical meetings with company, identify, give input to and review VORs, review, prepare or provide input to specifications for FAT, EFAT/Stack-up and system tests, and assist in execution of the tests, support the Customer Support Department during installation and commissioning when required, perform and participate in project closeout activities, such as inventory, cost figures and experience transfer.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, extensive/relevant experience in a detail design environment, experience of project management preferable, knowledge of subsea equipment, a professional & resourceful approach with extensive communication skills and good managerial skills.
