    Our client, a very successful global organisation renowned throughout the oil and gas industry, is looking to recruit a Staff Designer to become accountable for the design and testing of oil and gas well completion equipment for multiple product lines.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting research, designs, develops and executes engineering projects, reviewing progress and analysing results, for technical discussions, first installs, resolving single product issues, providing technical guidance to team members, planning and assign personnel for projects and assignments, producing and check all drawing types including design and 3D layouts, assisting in project planning and reviews, recommending designs and materials for engineering tasks, producing innovative ideas that advance the market position of the companys product line, co-ordinating prototype lab and field tests, creating field bulletins, developing existing product lines, Produce theoretical analysis of product design that generally renders testing to be a confirmation of ideas, selecting seal materials, controlling the production of manufacture and illustrative drawings, making use of V.A. concepts to reduce product cost without sacrificing technical integrity, preparing test programs, requests and reports, analysing test results and make recommendations, the operating of lab testing equipment, preparing technical units and manuals for review by supervisor, conducting designing reviewing, ordering and tracking prototype parts and analysing clients performance reports and responds to field enquiries. On occasion, candidate will be expected to provide product support, manufacturing support and failure analysis and will be expected to adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times. Candidate will also be expected to carry out general ad-hoc duties and special projects when required.

    The ideal candidate will posses skills in CAD, project management and in leading teams, Microsoft Office, time management, technical writing, problem solving skills, report writing and communication, presentation and organisational skills. The candidate should also be able to use engineering computers, software and databases and should be able to work in a team and on own initiative. The candidate should also have the ability to apply mathematical calculations to support tasks.

    It is essential that the candidate has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent, experience of designing and testing equipment, experience of leading projects, knowledge of intellectual property requirements, drafting techniques, health and safety requirements and knowledge of health and safety requirements. Candidate should also have an understanding of basic machining operations and of product liability issues and experience of working to deadlines.

    The successful candidate will be required to carry out HSE and HR Training modules, product line training, IT systems training and any other mandatory company training.
