    Our client, a successful high profile company, is seeking to recruit a design engineer to join their prestigious team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and preparation of equipment operations and project work packs to conform with Company and Client operational procedures. They will be expected to manage the development of project plans, procedurement of materials, supervision of personnel and demonstrating proficiency in the necessary soft/hardware applications necessary to these tasks. The candidate will be accountable for the inspection and Testing of the integrity of Company/Client Equipment and Flexibles, ensuring equipment designs are maintained and the performance of miscellaneous engineering works on behalf of clients. The successful candidate will be expected to ; collect, analyse and organise information, communicate ideas and information, plan and organise activities, work with others and in teams, use mathematical ideas and techniques, solve problems and use technology.

    The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering with Mechanical or Structural or HNC/HND, supported by significant experience. They should be trained in 2D and/or 3D drawings, sufficient to support development of a full set of construction drawings, competence in applicable technologies (mechanics, fabrication, structures, welding, hydraulics, electronics). Knowledge mathematical modelling including FEM and associated technologies would be advantageous, as would knowledge in design methodologies, project management capabilities and technical authorship consistent with developing high competency and quality equipment designs. The ideal candidate should be skilled in 3D sketching, mathematical modelling, office software packages, team working, professional conduct and leadership. It is essential that the candidate has a minimum of two years post qualification experience in a similar role. Professional membership of a recognised engineering institution and/or the ability to satisfy the requirements for Chartered Engineer are desirable.
