My client, a leading Oil Service Company, is looking for an experienced Buyer, for a 6-12 month contract for maternity cover.
Ideally you will have expediting and buying experience allied to knowledge of SAP.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Ensure correct vendors are used and controlled to manage and improve vendor delivery and HSEQ performance.
2. Arrange the procurement of goods and services as required.
3. Maintain SAP system dates and costs to meet plant performance requirements.
4. Assist other groups in the quotation process by obtaining costs for parts and assemblies and advising on deliveries, etc for new projects.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
Good knowledge of procurement practices is required in conjunction with strong knowledge of vendors and their capabilities. Experience in the negotiation and procurement of procured products and services is desirable.
Good interpersonal skills is essential, and relevant experience in the procurement of engineering parts and services would be an advantage.
A clear understanding of factors effecting supply and demand, a working knowledge of SAP systems and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and bills of materials would be an advantage.
