Our Client, a Major International Offshore & Subsea Oil & Gas Engineering Company, require a Marine Engineer to be based in Aberdeen.
Candidates should have HNC/ HND or Degree in Engineering discipline and/or Certificate of Competency (Motor &/or Steam)
Must have proven operational experience in a vessel engineering team
Preferably (although not essential) with offshore operational experience & experience in an onshore technical support role.
ROLE, reporting to the Project & Technical Manager, to be a focal point for Offshore Vessel technical issues & responsible for effective & safe technical operation of vessels
To assist in the scheduling of repairs & maintenance activities & assist in ensuring risks & impacts of proposed modifications / upgrades are fully realised & documented
Ensure changes are managed effectively & in line with relevant procedures
Act as a point of contact with the Ship Manager to provide advice concerning Vessel technical operations / breakdowns / specifications, etc.
Liaise with Vessels to ensure maintenance is being carried out to required Company standards & adequate technical advice available
Liaise with the Vessel Chief Engineer to ensure adequate spares available:
Monitor status of 3rd Party suppliers to ensure timely forwarding of critical spares & equipment
Participate / assist in dry-dockings activities & assigned projects:
Liaise with Vessel management & contractors to ensure comprehensive dry-docking workscopes are collated
Liaise jointly with Risk & Certification Engineer re Classification Societies, & Flag State Authorities, to ensure Vessel certification requirements in order
