The primary function of this role is to provide IT support via telephone, remote control and desk visits. Duties include installation, administration and development of desktop systems and also to support technicians and Senior Support Analyst. Job Description: Maintain core servers availability by carrying out daily checks on systems, resolves problems, reporting problems to Senior Support Analyst/IT/Manager. Manage Security of data by ensuring planned backup log. Update systems with latest security patches as released from software vendors. Maintain system with latest security patches as released from software vendors. Maintain system documentation for all IT systems. Aid in trouble shooting and disaster recovery. ensure team are aware of HS&E issues when carrying out normal duties and that appropriate personal protection is made available and used. Provide remote assistance to all RWG remote sites. On call on rota basis to provide emergency assistance to UK and remote sites. Experience & Qualifications: HNC/HND in computing Experience of systems with 300 plus users. Methodical problem solver, self starter requires imimum supervision Good all round communicator particularly with end users and IT Team. Strong knowledge of Microsoft desktop & server products. Good knowledge of networking products (TCP/IP, Internet, Intranet, Switches, Hubs, Routers) Working knowledge of voice over IP technology. Solid understanding of hardware products including servers, PCs, laptops, printers and general network equipment.
