Job Description
Job Title INSPECTION MANAGER
Location: Aberdeen
Salary: Β£42,000 Plus
Required Qualifications β’ NACE Level III coating inspector β Peer Reviewed
’ OPITO offshore survival
’ UKOOA offshore medical
’ Degree qualification preferred
Hours of Work Offshore β as required
Onshore β 40 hours per week
Job Purpose:
To take the lead role in heading up the Inspection department by managing coating inspection / surveying personnel and ensuring project inspection / surveying requirements are adhered to and carried out.
Duties β’ To manage and support the team of Paint Inspectors/Surveyors. This includes recruiting, allocating work, training, appraising and inducting.
’ To implement quality control procedures in relation to all work produced by the team.
’ To ensure all client and companyβs operational, commercial and QHSE expectations and targets are met
’ To identify need for resources in conjunction with Operations Director and HR.
’ Interface with Metacor Directors and Project Managers.
’ Work closely with Business Development team to identify and develop new business opportunities.
’ Ensure effective communication on integrity and service issues
’ Facilitate the development, continuous improvement and delivery of the inspection business
’ To produce capacity and operational plans accurately and on time
’ Responsible for the management of the offshore mobilisations of inspection and survey personnel.
’ Writing coating inspection project specifications and procedures when required.
’ Ensure inspection equipment is maintained and calibrated for Client requirements.
’ Provide coating inspection / surveying training.
’ Compile and maintain accurate computer generated reports.
’ Maintain and manage the disposition of inspection related reporting.
’ Work closely with ISO implementation team by contributing to the writing of procedures and carrying out internal audits
’ Offshore visits / inspection trips as and when required.
’ Ensure all activities are performed in a professional, efficient, safe and cost effective manner and to the complete satisfaction of our customers
Required Skills β’ Strong technical and commercial background within inspection, asset integrity and corrosion
’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
’ Ability to read structural and piping technical drawings (general arrangements, PandIDs, piping isometrics, structural drawings).
’ Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs β proficient in Excel
’ Proven man-management experience
’ Ability to interface at all levels including client and senior management
’ Previous overseas working experience preferred
