Full Description:
Sources client, based in the city centre, is looking to recruit an accounts assistant to join their small team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Entering receipts and ensuring the monies are reconciled with the internal system and banked daily
Posting and monitoring cheques
Assisting with the processing of Purchase Invoices on a weekly basis ensuring that they are matched with appropriate Purchase Order or other evidence and entered onto the accounts system
Assisting with the processing of Sales Invoices on a daily basis ensuring that they are dispatched
Assisting with the processing of manual cheque payments and ensuring they are properly authorised.
Preparation of Purchase Ledger payment list for authorisation by the Financial Controller and subsequent production of cheques and BACS payments
Processing of all direct payments and receipts appearing on the companys bank statements on a daily basis
Reconciliation of bank account as per the SUN4 accounts system with bank statements on a weekly basis
Ensuring that an MS Excel spreadsheet record of petty cash receipts and payments is updated on a weekly basis
Ensuring that payroll is paid by the last Friday of each month
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working within an accounts department
Prior use of SUN4 accounts system or similar
Prior use of payroll systems
Prior use of MS Excel spreadsheets
Prior use of MS Word word processing
The successful applicant will be of a personable nature able to work closely within a small team
