    Job Purpose
    To provide a Planning and Progress Monitoring Service to the Group Engineering Department, Project Team, and Workshop/Operations as required, and to assist/enable the business to manage ongoing project delivery from Engineering stages through to final delivery to operations / customer, on time and within budget.

    Principle Accountabilities

    Determines the planning and scheduling requirements necessary to meet Project specifications and request the necessary inputs from the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Materials Controller, Workshop Supervisor, Operations Department and any major subcontractors/vendors. Taking this information and, (in conjunction with the Project Manager and functional management as required), generates the integrated Project Plans and Schedules at the various levels.

    The creation of unique Project Specific Schedules, in sufficient detail and to the recognised Company Group Project Planning format.

    Liaison with the clients Planning Engineer or equivalent as necessary to ensure schedule compatibility, and help build and maintain relationships with customers (internal and external), ensuring that a high quality, professional service is promoted and provided. Customer satisfaction leads to repeat business.

    The close monitoring/updating and rescheduling, as circumstances dictate, of such Project Specific Schedules to ensure client/customer agreed milestones are honoured.

    To highlight and advised the Project Manager / Project Engineer when milestone progress payments from the client can be invoiced.

    To liaise and communicate clearly, constructively and positively with members of all Departments ranging from Engineering, Quality Assurance, through to Operations, Workshop & Stores - To help ensure that all Projects are completed on time with minimal disruption to other planned events.

    Promote a free flow of information between departments - Actively participate as a member of the Group Engineering / Project Team to share customer experiences with an aim to improve department efficiency, reduce costs, and assist to improve the quality of the end product.

    Experience Required

    Mechanical Engineering qualification - HND/HNC C & G would be an advantage.
    Demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of planning.
    Experience on major planning systems such as Artemis, Open Plan, working in an engineering environment would be an advantage.
    Experience of planning systems such as Microsoft Project or Primavera essential.
    Experience of work breakdown structures.
