Involvement in Engineering and planning meetings to determine priorities and workshop plan.
Supervision of sub-contractors to ensure work is completed in a timely and professional manner to include but not limited to the following:
-Give direction and technical guidance
-Preparation and control of all mechanical department timesheets
-Ensuring weekend coverage as appropriate to meet the ongoing job requirements
-Monitoring and control of overtime
-Allocation of mechanical and departmental resources
Be involved and responsible in the planning of workshop and operational activities within the mechanical department to include but not limited to the following:
-Daily issue, collection and control of Job Cards, ensure that all job card instructions are complied with and that all requested documentation is attached to the job card upon completion
-Planning of all workshop works daily/weekly and monthly
To liaise and communicate with Project Engineers / Managers to ensure that all jobs are properly planned and appropriate materials are available or will be available to meet the job deadline
Preparation and control of workshop maintenance records and ensuring any check sheets for plant/equipment and safety equipment is diligently carried out
Preparation of monthly workshop safety report to management to highlight any material deficiencies and unsafe practices to be acted upon
Ensuring good communication is maintained between the office and the workshop
