Job Purpose
This job operates within a specific project. This role requires a technical understanding of current engineering standards, practices and procedures.
Engineers are required to perform general engineering tasks as directed by the engineering team leader in order to fulfil the requirements of engineering projects.
The jobholder will play a key role in the delivery of a flagship technology project.
The individual will be working as part of the project team (26 people) which is ultimately part of the larger Engineering function.
The scope of work will include initial design of innovative assemblies, with involvement through manufacture, build and test phases.
Duties and Responsibilities
Control engineering documents within PDM system and configure as required.
Perform all tasks in accordance with company quality procedures and group international standards.
Participate within technical aspects of engineering meetings such as design reviews, client & 3rd party vendor meetings and project meetings.
Produce and check engineering design including engineering documentation.
Provide technical support to assembly and test.
Provide direction to draughtsman and designers throughout design process.
Generating and checking engineering calculations.

Qualifications/Experience
The candidate should be a well rounded mechanical engineer who is flexible and adaptable.
Suitable degree preferred in relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent with a number of years relevant engineering experience.
Desire to progress to chartered status.
Practical operational test experience is advantageous.
Design experience.
Ability to identify, develop and problem solve mechanical design issues.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with other parts of the business, clients and vendors.
The jobholder is required to be effective, proactive and technically competent. However, the jobholder will be supported by Senior Engineers and the Engineering Team Leader.
