Our clientcurrently has an exciting opportunity to join their UK contracts team in the Aberdeen office. The position has arisen due to internal expansion and growth of the team.
In the role, you will manage all or part of an15 +person team in the Aberdeen office focusing on management of all commercial aspects of projects under your remit. The vacancy is flexible in the fact that you could be either a Contracts focused individual or Commercially focused in your previous role.
The key elements for the successful applicant is an ability to manage a team, having an understanding of logic contracts and a strong desire to succeed.
The Role
In managing a team commiserate with your current experience, duties will include:
- Some hands on input into projects under your control
- Managing the submission of variations, claims and billing queries on contracts
- Negotiate variation orders in conjunction with Project Manager.
- Administration of client contracts and sub-contracts
- Performance management of client contracts and sub-contracts
- Managing input on liquidated damages issued
- Continually monitoring and managing commercial risks to contracts
- Making sure that appropriate contract obligations are passed to sub-contractors
- Liaising with Tax, Treasury and Insurance departments to ensure that requirements for projects are understood
- Resource planning and training of staff
- Career development plans for staff under your control Person Specification
Our clientwould like to consider candidates who are a Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager or possibly a Commercial or Contracts Team Leader. The person will have:
- Ideally a degree in either law, commercial or business management qualification
- Strong commercial management experience in the oil and gas sector
- Proven experience in supervising team
- Knowledge of logic forms of contract
- Knowledge of legal liabilities and awareness of risk in contracts with clients and sub-contractors Remuneration
